Been awhile....

huh!
Well in the past 3 months, Sammy turned 17, Chandler got her braces off, high school and select softball have started and I may stop blogging. Yeah, I know but facebook sucked me in and with softball in full swing. I just don't have the time or the energy to do it. Plus other CRAP going on I am just not in the mood. Sorry. We will see how I feel in a bit. Pictures, yeah I have a ton to upload here but probably won't.

More Flood photos!

Here are some photos taken on State Route 203 and 60th St. 203 runs at the backside of our property and 60th is the north end of our road. We live on 320th between 55th and 60th Streets. It was kind of scary. Bill was able to come home Friday afternoon. Chandler and I were able to get out and attend my best friends Dad's funeral. Sammy got called into work. They have opened more of the roads out here, the last one Carnation Farm road had some damage done so they are working on it. Chandler and I went to Monroe today to get some groceries (saved 70%) and she took a few photos with Sammy's camera, so as soon as those get uploaded, I will post them here. I can't believe all of this water! yikes!Remember you can click on any photo to make it bigger.

Flooding again!!

Well here we are. Flooding again. Worse than November 2006. As you can see in the first photo, it got a lot closer this time around. We are safe and dry. Bill is in town at a motel for the second night. It was a little scary last night and I didn't get much sleep. I was outside at 3:30 am checking the water on the road etc. I have several photos posted for you enjoyment! lol I have more from St. Rte 203 I will post later. Needless to say we are missing school again tomorrow. The Snoqualmie river has finally crested at a foot over the highest recorded level. Hugs and Giggles!!

Our neighbors on the northside of us. They have NEVER had water in their backyard.

This is 320th facing north to 60th St.

Jens house. She lives kitty corner from us. You can check my archives for a picture of her house in the November 2006 flood.

Around 11 pm we went out and helped Grandpa put up plastice and gravel on top in front of the garage doors, just in case the water came up more. We were lucky!

So happy to be on dry ground!

Crafty stuff and craft room

Here are a few gifts I made for friends and Family.
First up is a perpetual cookie sheet calendar. Everything is magnetic and all the extra months etc are stored on the back of the cookie sheet. Next up is my new craft shelves. I got them here...www.organizemore.com They offer more than what I got. I love them. Especially the ink pad and ribbon ones. I so out grew the Stampin Up ribbon organizers. These come with padded feet for storing on your table and hook things on the back to hang on the wall as I did with the cubby hole one. Prices are very reasonable. I may order some of the cubby ones for the girls room. Lastly is an ornament I made, I also made small pins as well, but forgot to take a photo. This is not my idea. Years ago my bffl Kelley had a small pin she wore every Christmas. I was thinking about it and saw on a stamping website that they were making ornamnet out of round coasters, I thought hmmm I can make these. SO I did!! So do you get it??
Answer is below the photo! Okay so blogger reversed the order of my photos. So the answer is below the last photo! Sorry about that!

Christmas

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It was a memorable one for sure what with all the snow and ice. I actually drove for the first time today in 2 weeks! lol Ü
Here are just a few photos of our day. The girls were very excited to get new I-pod nano's. Although they missed the envelope of cash, they loved what we replaced it with. Bill was a kid in a candy store as he received the X-Box 360, Don't worry, he shares! I cried, yes. The goal for Bill is to make me cry on Holidays and this one was no exception. The girls got me a beautiful silver heart necklace with a Mom saying on it. I cried like a baby. Chandler totally surprised me with a beautiful coil pot she made in ceramics. It is so pretty. By 9am the house was quiet. After breakfast, Bill's Dad and the girls headed out to Yakima to see Bill's Mom and sister. Bill played XBox all day and I took my crafty things upstairs and started to reorganize. Will show those in the next post!

Oh the Weather Outside is Frightful!!

WOW! What a week we have had! Last Saturday we had some snow/ice so come Monday morning school was 2 hours late due to the icy roads, as well as Tuesday. Then more snow....school was cancelled Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. What a way to end the last week of school before winter break! It has snowed pretty much non-stop since yesterday, with a few breaks. We also had some pretty high winds last night, we did lose power, but for only about 3.5 hours, glad it was in the middle of the night, we were all snuggled in bed, I did miss the electric blanket being on though! lol
We have kept busy too, I got all of my holiday baking done last week, instead of this weekend since we had no school. It felt good getting it all done earlier than planned. I was to have a dental appointment tomorrow, but the dentist called and cancelled. I really wasn't looking forward to having a crown and 2 very old fillings replaced. That is 2 plus hours I can stamp/scrapbook! No I do not have any gifts to wrap or purchase. We have been done for a few weeks now...not to brag! Ü I do have a few projects I have worked on the last month but have to wait until after Christmas due to most of them being gifts. Well here are a few photos of the girls in the snow, the one of Chandler with the icicle....she opened her bedroom window and snagged it off the roof! She is such a goofball! I hope everyone has a Wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!!

Why there wasn't school/work today!!

Warning....Picture laden post!!
Yup we were flooded again. Not as bad as 2006, but bad none the less. The first 3 photos were taken on our street. The tan house actually got it bad in 06 and last year they raised it up. Too bad they didn't raise the garage. The house with the boat is a little kitty corner from the tan house.
The town of Carnation was an island for awhile. Bill was one of the last vehicles out of town this morning at 4:30am. About 11am the girls, Dallas and I went around to take photos. By the time we headed out we were able to get to Fall City which is south of us. There were 3 areas that still had some water on the roadway. We stopped a few times to take photos. On the way back we went to 60th (photo of the closed sign) That is the corner of 60th and highway 203. 60th is at the end of our road, 320th. It was fun. Hopefully the news helicopters will stop doing fly bys soon. So for the week we had school/work Mon, Wed and Fri. Not bad! lol As usual, if you want to see a pohoto larger, just click on it!

Good News!!

Sammy is NOT a MRSA carrier. We are so relieved with this news. We did tell her that she still has to wash her hands often along with normal hygiene care! Enjoy the photo. These were cards made at last months classes I taught at the Elementary schools. Hugs and Giggles!!
