More on Sammy's room

Okay, this is what was behind the cut out boards on the wall. They must have used all that hay as insulation....yuck! The evidently birds found it and left tons of droppings. So we are in the process of cleaning that all out. We will also be adding proper insulation and making those areas ( one on each side of the room) into storage areas, by adding hinges to the cut outs etc. We also found "The "Happy Little Train game" Not in the best of condition but a cool find none the less. We also found an old math workbook. No dates or covers on it but in the money section, they show wheat pennies. So cool. See the backwards wallpaper? UGLY huh! lol
We also decided theat the girls will be sharing the room. They will both have equal space. The small room Chandler has/had will now be a study room with their desks, and hopefully their own computer soon. We have had some decisions to make regarding the walls etc up there. We have decided that it would take way to much time and a little money to get the wood to look really good, and still make the room to dark. So we are painting it a nice navajo white, Bill started that last night to see how it would look. It looks very nice.( will post pictures in a few days after I take photos etc) We have had to work in sections and still have a ton of stuff to do. As we would like the girls to be in there by Christmas. Wish us luck!
Also, sorry for the lack of postes lately. With working up in the room we are still doing other things around the house. Bill and his Dad got 2 of the 3 new gutters back up and painted. Looks nice and no more overflows etc. Until next time. Hugs and Giggles!

Sammy's room

Well, Bill and I had a plan one evening after we took the girls to the last high school football game.( We are getting to old to stand out in the cold and rain watching football) Get into Sammy's room and declutter, organize her a bit. She happens to have the largest room in the house but is soooo cluttered she cannot keep it clean/organized. Oh the reason she has the largest room. Because of the design of the stairs, we cannot fit our king size bed up there. Anyways, we were up there sorting, folding and organizing when Dallas ( G-pa) came up. We have been wondering what is under layers and layers of paper etc on the walls. Well we found out alright and the photos below will show you. What a job! There must have been at least 6 layers of stuff. Some sort of felt paper, backwards wallpaper, yes they put it on backwards, more paper and paint and the last layer was.....burlap that they painted white after the attached it to the wall! ugh If you see on one of the photos of the wall, some of the boards are cut. See next post to find out the treasures we found! Hugs and Giggles!

Sammy and the Jonas Brothers!

So Sammy and her friend Alicia concocted a plan....Yeah, 2-15 year olds with a plan! lol
If they could get a ride to the Northgate Mall to see the Jonas Brothers, Alicia's Dad could bring them home. One problem. They have school, would us as parents be willing to let them miss a couple classes (4). Well is worked out for them. Dallas...Sammy's Grandpa picked them up at school and took them to the Mall. Where they waited and waited in a very looong line to see the Jonas Brothers. See photos below. You can click on any photo to make it bigger. I don't think Sammy shut up for days about seeing them. I happened to catch the Jonas Brothers on the Ellen show the Friday before and their music isn't half bad.

More waiting! The excitement is growing the closer they get! OMG there they are!!! Aren't they cute!!!, he's HOT!!. Look what I got! Iam so happy, this was the best day!!
